Pick a key and mode and tap Generate for musically sound progressions, ranked best first. Regenerate to cycle the options.

Diatonic to chromatic

Brightness shifts major ↔ modal; Tension climbs from plain triads through 7ths, secondary dominants, borrowed chords and tritone subs.

Producer voicings

Spread pads by default — plus close, open and drop-2 — with smooth voice-leading from one chord to the next.

Build it by hand

Tap any chord to swap it from a full palette, or move, duplicate and delete. Generate a starting point, then make it yours.

Harmonize a melody

Draw a melody on the grid or import a MIDI or MusicXML file, and Mediant writes a chord progression underneath it.

Export anywhere

Audition on device, read the chord symbols on a staff, then export MIDI or MusicXML to your DAW or notation app. No account, no internet, no ads — Mediant collects nothing.
